Initial Reaction

My initial reaction to Madden 20. My initial reaction which I'm recalling after two and a half hours of sleep from playing the game all night. I have to give two hands up. Now, you have to take my words with a grain of salt. Every year I think the game is great and that usually differs from other players take on it. So for me, compared to them, this game was beyond great. First of all I love the QB1 experience. I haven't really gotten that far into it but so far I love how it's starting out. The bus ride for me was what made it, or made me get excited. I've played about eight or nine games so far and not once did I feel cheated. There was one particular user who tried to run all around and do some weird shit. He pretty much was penalized every time.

The Quarterback play. First of all, if you see a route late, do not throw the ball. Second of all, pump fake is a double tap. I repeat, pump fake is a double tap of the button. This got me into trouble a few times but overall I think I like it to be that way. Everything is button sensitive now.

In closing, this game blew my mind out the water. I'm excited to play some more and so that's what I'm about to do.

Overall Impression

With the sim season about to start in a week or less, let me tell you my overall impression of the game.

This is probably the best Madden game created. Game play is amazing. Now if you're young you probably thinks it needs improvement, and I'm there with you. I agree that it needs improvement but I'm excited for what they gave us in this iteration of Madden football. The fact that I get mad at the QB now is amazing. Some of these qb throws be to high or to low. If your quarterback is inaccurate then you probably want to make sure you get some runs in. So I'm kind of excited to get this season started with the SFDL. It's a league I've been in for the past 5 years. Now let's talk about the league.

I will be taking over the Jacksonville Jaguars in this league. My initial thoughts is that I will struggle. I don't have the Quarterback that I want and my receivers are average to below average. I have a westcoast philosophy so my playbook is fine and overall I think my offense will be middle of the pack. Offensive line is pretty decent, so I should have some success as far as winning games. My focus for this season will be to develop my receivers and to stay away from turnovers.

My defense will be solid for those who will try and throw the ball against me. However, I will have a tough time stopping the run. The defensive play book does not fit me and since we have to use that team's playbook, I will struggle on defense. So overall, I might finish the first season at around 10 - 6. Play calling is my strength and that will help me win some games that I shouldn't.

Franchise League Started

We're finally here. The league started late Friday night. I took ownership the Jacksonville Jaguars. Made a few adjustments but wasn't able to get a key offensive player. Preseason moves rather quickly in this league. In fact the regular season starts tonight at 10pm est.

My game with the Chiefs are scheduled for Tuesday at 8pm est. I already have a game plan in place. I'll continue to visualize the game until the game day. I'm not overly excited however. I believe I will struggle on offense and that will cause the enjoyment of the season to dissipate. I'm an offensive guy if you don't already know.

The preseason showed me that I will have a solid defense against users. It also shows me that I will struggle to consistently shut down the running game. On offense, running will be the only thing I can do and will have to remain patient doing so. Passing will be inconsistent and it will kill a lot of drives.

Overall, I believe that I will have a winning record, probably win 9 or 10 games in my first season. I'll make the playoffs but probably lose in the first round.

Week 1 is Finished

One week down and of course I lost the game 13 - 3 with 10 of those points coming off of Turnovers in the 2nd half. Incredible interceptions on his part but next time I think I will be a little bit more conservative.

Overall I'm more please with my defense the way it held up against his weapons. I knew though that he would want to depend on Tyreek Hill and I basically forced him to try and get creative with him. Unfortunately for me I could do nothing on offense. Personally, I think that game was mine if I was able to avoid those turnovers. Learning lesson though.

I still predict and 8 - 8 finish. I chose making it to the playoffs for the goal. I need those xp points for the coach. Let's see how next game goes.

Week 2 is Finished

Week two now completed and this time the outcome was different. My defense was dominant once again. The final score would be 34 -13, Jaguars being the winner. Now sitting at .500, I'm on pace to finish the season at 8 - 8.

If I can stay from turnovers, then I have chance to make the playoffs. I wonder though how long can my defense hold up with my offense not scoring that many points.

I have an injury to my running back, Leonard Fournette, that might derail the good I've been doing so far. I was able to pick up Chandrick West. Hopefully the drop off is not that steep. I can not pass the ball.

Dede Westbrook is playing well despite my Quarterback. My receivers are not getting open and when they do get open my Quarterback is missing badly. I will have to find a way to get a better quarterback this off-season.

Week 3 My game is complete

I played the CPU Titans and won the game. This is really no surprise. I do have a great defense and I play better offense against the cpu. So this game really doesn't show me anything other than my Quarterback is still really, really shit.

So through three games, I am 2 - 1. My next game is against the Broncos. He doesn't have a Quarterback and I have the best secondary so he won't do much through the air. However, I have to make sure that I pay attention to the running game so he doesn't beat me there. On offense, I will have to make sure that I stay away from turnovers.

I should be at the end of week 4, 3 and 1. For that game I don't believe he will score. Probably a shutout. 10 - 0, victory being mine. See you at the end of week 4.

Week 4 Conclusion

This game played twice. The first game looked liked it would be a low scoring game. I took the lead in the 2nd quarter with the score being 3 to 0. However that game ended up being disconnected. The second game didn't turn out to be a defensive game or low scoring for that matter. I ended up winning that game 30 - 21. There were a couple of defensive scores and I pretty much lead throughout the game. The difference in that game was that I was able to run the ball effectively. Plus my defense provides a lot of assistance with keeping the other opponent from having an easy time scoring the ball.

At this point being 3 - 1 is going in the right direction. I should make the playoffs but this is a long season and there's time for some fucked up shit to happen. Like one of my defensive players getting hurt making it harder to win games. It's hard enough as it is. But if we stay relatively healthy then I should make the playoffs. What I'll do there once I get there is a whole nother question.

Facing a Familiar Friend

My homeboy took the Panthers and he's a pretty good player. I've had some success against him. The game plan is to stop the run. If I do that I feel like I could have a chance to win.

Game day, and I'm ready to play. It appeared that his game plan was to stop the pass. There were lanes open pretty much the whole game. I still fell behind though because of the play of my quarterback. My defense locked him up though and I was able to seal the game away with my running game. This would bring my season to 4 wins 1 loss.

Week 6 - Major Failure

This was a pathetic game from my defense. This is supposed to be the strength of the team. It didn't appear to be the strength in this week's contest against the Saints.
