Catching up

As I previously wrote, I decided at the last minute to play Madden 19. My home boys kept asking when I was getting it and I kept saying I wasn't getting it and then my laptop broke. Then the interest built. Then I got it. Then I loved it. Please forgive me for all the "then's". I was using for effect. The point is I absolute love this edition of Madden. I'm not as good as I once was, probable due to the fact that I can't see as well as I use to. Plus my hands have pain in them. However I love the game play so I decided that I was going to join another league besides the league my homies started.

So now I am in two leagues. The league my homies started and a league that I was first introduced to sim football. All Hail Football and SFDL (Sim Football Dedication League), these are the leagues I'm currently participating in. I have no clue how I'm going to do in them but I know this time around, I will enjoy it a lot more.

We're currently in week 17 in All Hail Football and week 12 in SFDL. I only played one game so far in SFDL. I won that game. This currently has me sitting at five hundred. I'm five and five with six games to go. The schedule doesn't look to tough and there are a couple of opponents that I recognize from years past. Since I have the Jaguars all I have to do is not commit turnovers and I should win out. Defense is to good. I'll struggle on offense but I should be able to make enough plays to win these games. As far as All Hail Football, I've played the whole season and I am currently controlling the Buccaneers. I just wrapped up the season tonight with a perfect record. However I only played four users. I'm confident in this squad as well and I should make it to the Superbowl as long as I do not turn the ball over and stay out of third and longs.

To wrap this up, I believe I can win the championship with the Bucs in All Hail football and I believe that I can make it to the playoffs with Jacksonville Jaguars after getting the team with a four and five record.

Playoff Run

I finished the season with a perfect record. Pretty confident that I would make it to the Superbowl. I had the number one overall seed and I had a pretty good defense. For the divisional round I played b_flo724. This game wasn't even a match. I pretty much cruise through the whole game. I caused 7 turnover for a final score of 35 - 6. The conference final would be the true test which I ultimately failed. I had an uncharacteristic game with 4 turnovers with the last one really costing me the game. The final score was 34 - 28. Maybe next season I will have a better outcome. Staying ahead is how I usually when my games against him. This and keeping my turnovers down will be my tactic for next season.

Getting a Team Mid-season

I took over a great team in the Jacksonville Jaguars and now have played 4 games. I'm currently 3 - 1 in those games. My defense is amazing and I think I make great use of them. However I played one game that I believe will cost me a spot in the playoffs. My defense showed up but my special teams cost me the game. 7 points that could of easily sealed the win for me against a team that was struggling against my offense.

I'm facing a familiar foe when the league advances. My chances will depend on how my offense and special teams fare. I like my chances though. Hopefully the game goes my way and I increase my win total to 8 - 6.

Year 2 In Both Leagues

Year one in All Hail Football league was a disappointment. I had an undefeated team that should have won it all. However, turnovers killed my squad. Year 2 offers some challenges that I wonder if my team will be able to overcome. My defense is weak and my offense is limited. Running game is not as effective as it was last season. My defense is not getting the turnovers it was getting last year so I'm not as confident as a player as I was last season. I am however, undefeated once again. Maybe this season will turnout differently than last season

Year two in SFDL and I finally have a full off-season under my belt. This team wasn't or isn't as strong as it would have been if the previous coach didn't let go of a couple of receivers. However I'm pleased with the offense this season because I had a decent draft. I have a running back that is currently out playing Fournette. He's a rookie running back named Justin Hill. He's strong to be a little guy and I'm thinking about starting him. My receivers are actually playing well along with my tightends. The defense is playing well too. We're causing turnovers and getting key stops when needed.

The offense and defense compliments each other. If the defense is having a hard time containing the other teams offense then our offense actually picks it up, allowing the defense to focus on making a key play. And if the offense is struggling to move the ball on the other teams defense then our defense tightens up against the opposing teams offense, making it hard for them to get any points allowing our offense to make that one play that helps us win the game. I do have to say as well, is that our kicker has been amazing this season. Both of them.

All about my Birthday

My birthday was yesterday, October 30th. I played 2 games. One last night and one this morning. Both were epic games. Both came down to the final seconds. Big plays were in the final period of the 4th quarter of the 2nd game and more big plays in overtime. The game was finally won with 3 seconds left in overtime with a 36 yard field goal. Happy freaking birthday to me, 2 games straight with superb finishes.

Realizing My Worth

I guess I'm playing decent in both leagues but I realized that I'm not as good as I once was. My mind is still sharp and play calling is still a strong suite. Passing the ball still remains my strength and I'm still creative and decent on defense. However, I don't know if it's the game or if anyone else feels like this but I am no longer the beast on these Madden games as I used to be. I am consistently in games and I'm winning more than I lose. But I lose a lot more than I'm accustomed to. I just wish I was better. Now my thought process going into the game is that I will just compete against myself and enjoy playing realizing that I might not win.

Madden Season

Once again, I have been bitten by Madden fever. I'm anxiously waiting for August 2nd, 2019. I will most likely get it after work and that is around 8:30 pm eastern time. I already confirmed my spot in a league that I've been in the last few years. This will be my fifth year in the league.

My skills have not been the same since I start playing way back in 1994. I'm not sure if I will ever represent this league in a Superbowl but the competition is fun and I still represent well. I make it to the playoffs every season. This also should be an interesting season due to the fact that the player ratings will plummet all the way into the 70's. I'm predicting a lot of punts and field goals. Third down conversions will most likely be in the 30 - 40 percentile range. It will finally be offensive chess matches against defenses. Also drafting will become more of importance along with free agency. The other thing that this will do is that you will now just get players that fit your style versus getting as many 80 or 90 rated players that you can.

My buddies are also creating a league for the 6 or 7th straight year. This league usually burn out because it's only ten of us that plays. And generally it's me and three other guys that make it to the Superbowl every year. I honestly didn't think that we would do another season this year, especially since last year we pretty much quit before year 3 in Madden. But here we go again, playing another installment of Madden.

There is going to be a different feel to this season of Madden. I'm planning on recording all my games. I'm also planning on placing them on this website. Another thing I plan on doing is giving my play by play analysis of what's going on. Explain what I'm looking at and what I'm trying to do. I will do this in both leagues and I will advertise my writings through the Madden groups. I will also do a full analysis of my opponents before I play them. I will also write about the game afterwards. I will do this before both leagues. Another thing I plan on doing is playing online head to head games. I will write about the game afterwards and I will do a video about that specific game as well. During game plan I will explain what I'm trying to do and everything that I'm seeing.

This Madden season will be different and will have a different feel for me. This football in season will have a different feel for me. But all and all I'm excited and stoked for this Madden season. I hope you all take this journey with me.
